TechnologyOperating Systems | Software | Web Technologies Operating SystemsWe check your site on the following Operating Systems:MAC OS 9 and XWindows 98, 2000, and XPWhat you see on your computer when you look at a website could be completely different from what your neighbor sees and different yet from what we see. While these issues cannot be avoided, we try our best to get you as consistent looking of a website as possible. SoftwareWe use the following software:
Web TechnologiesE-Commerce Software - We utilize a powerful shopping cart that works with many popular payment gateways (including Paypal and 2Checkout). It's very easy to update products, sales, quantities and more for the end-user (you). E-mail Distribution List - We use e-mail distribution software that has automatic opt-in and opt-out. The administrator (you) can send text, HTML or a combination of text and HTML e-mails. Other than writing the content for the e-mail, the program we utilize takes care of itself. Statistics Logging - This provides you with information such as how many people visited your web site, how they found your web site, which days of the week and which pages on your site were the most popular on your web site, and MUCH more. Nothing short of a plethora of information which will give you an excellent picture of exactly how your web site is being used. Search Engine Registration - We can design your web site specifically targeting the major search engines for a better chance of good placement. We can manually submit your site to the top ten search engines to help increase your chances of getting listed. The search engines are where 95% of internet users start looking for something on the web, so if you are seeking visitors, search engine registration is a must. Forms - Your paper forms which you utilize could be filled out on your web site instead, resulting in email feedback being sent to the person filling out the form, and the information collected is emailed to you. This could be anything like a tax form, collecting contact information, getting feedback, surveys, registration forms, etc. Usually they are used in conjunction with secure serving and sometimes with a database, where form data is automatically entered into a web-based database. We can also put printable and/or downloadable forms on your site. Advertisement Rotators - If your web site gets a lot of traffic, you can advertise for other web sites and earn revenue for it. Advertisements can be tracked by number of impressions (views) and number of click-throughs (referrals), and they can be rotated so the same page shows a different ad every time it's loaded. Flash Programming - Macromedia's Flash allows you to create web sites which are much more interactive, including context-sensitive sounds, and various elements on any given page of your web site seem to have the freedom to move anywhere on the screen. For example, use flash to scroll in a logo from the left and a site index from the right (instead of loading your site normally), and then play a short sound when the mouse pointer moves over something clickable, for example. Pop-up Browser Windows - This is when a new browser window appears in addition to the current one, usually smaller in size, to provide context sensitive information, small survey forms, advertisements, and more. Send This Page To A Friend - This allows your visitors to enter a friend's email address into a text box, resulting in an email referral made by your visitors to their friend. It helps drive more traffic to your web site. Javascript Forms - Add instant field validation to your forms using cross-browser compatible javascript. For example, when your visitor clicks the "Submit" button on your form, the script could check to make sure a correctly formatted email address is entered, or that all the required fields are filled in, or that a phone number has the correct number of digits, for example. Using Javascript in your forms will help decrease the communication barrier between your visitors and you. Javascript Menus - You can use drop-down menus to literally save space in the browser window, since they appear on top of the other content in the browser window. Use them to create a set of drop-down menus that make your site easier to navigate without adding excess clutter. Mouseover Graphics - One picture or graphic changes when the mouse is over the same or another graphic. This helps you give your web site visitors some visual clues to ease navigation, and it can help you provide your visitors with context-sensitive information based on where the mouse is on the screen. Image Maps - This is the ability to slice an image into different linkable sections, each of which are clickable and can be irregular (non-rectangular) in shape. For example, you could have a picture of a kitchen which is an image map and a different page for each appliance in the kitchen. Then when you click on a given appliance in the picture, it takes you to the page for that appliance. Background Music - We can put background music just behind your homepage, or we can set it to persist through your entire site. Just about any song can be added to your site, including anything you have a recording of. Voice recordings could also be added, such as audible descriptions of items in an online product catalog. Mouse Trails - We can add any small pictures or graphics as bouncing mouse trails that follow and bounce around the mouse cursor on your site.
